Born during the Great Depression in central Massachusetts, Peter Gravelle is the oldest of ten children. He began to develop his passion for reading and a lifetime of learning in a two-room schoolhouse. After furthering his education at Clark University, Suffolk University Law School, and Dartmouth College, Peter rose through the financial and executive ranks of some of the best-managed companies in America – Raytheon, Tyco, and Eaton – and ultimately became president of Kysor Industrial. He is also a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association and a multi-engine rated pilot.
Upon retirement, Peter immersed himself in creating small businesses and consulting for domestic manufacturing firms. He has learned from them all and is passionate about sharing his experiences with others – especially with young people on the brink of adulthood.
Peter and his wife Mary have been married for more than fifty years and have traveled to more than fifty countries. They have raised four children and are the proud and very involved grandparents of twelve grandchildren. The couple resides in Massachusetts or Florida when they are not traveling.
